The Native Cultures Fund (NCF) supports Native arts, cultural revitalization, and knowledge transmission between generations with interest in healing historic trauma. The program serves a 50-county region in California and has awarded over $1.7 million in direct grants to over 305 community-led projects.
The NCF makes grant awards between $1,000 and $10,000 to 3-10 projects in each of two annual grant cycles each year. Deadlines for these grants are May 1 and October 1. Grants are made to individuals, community partnerships, and to nonprofit organizations. These grants are made possible in partnership with the William & Flora Hewlett Foundation and the Jack Montoya Memorial Fund.

Northwest: Del Norte, Siskiyou, Trinity and Humboldt
Northeast: Modoc, Lassen, and Plumas
Central Coast: Mendocino, Lake, Sonoma. Napa, Marin, Contra Costa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Alameda, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, San Benito, and Monterey
Central Valley: Shasta, Tehama, Glenn, Butte, Sutter, Yuba, Yolo, Sacramento, El Dorado, Solano, Amador, San Joaquin, Calaveras, Stanilsaus, Tuolumne, Merced, Mariposa, Madera, Fresno, Kings, Kern, and Tulare
Eastern Sierra: Sierra, Nevada, Placer, Alpine, Mono, and Inyo
