The center opened in 1994, with initial support from the Davis and Lucile Packard Foundation and the William T. Rooney Fund.  

Read the 2020 Regional Nonprofit State of the Sector Report

The purpose of the 2020 Regional Nonprofit State of the Sector Survey was to gain an understanding of the nonprofit operating environment in relation to funding, advocacy, collaboration, building capacity, operational adaptation and advancing racial equity within the four county region of Curry, Del Norte, Humboldt, and Trinity. This survey provides an opportunity to better understand the diversity of experiences community based organizations are having throughout the region during this difficult time.

Center Services:

  • Find grant opportunities for your program or project! We are pleased to be a funding information network partner with Candid and offer free access to the Foundation Directory, a fully searchable grants database with information about tens of thousands of national and international foundations and corporate donors. During the pandemic, you can access the Directory remotely by clicking here.  Once on the site, you will be asked to create an account and sign up for a day pass. The day pass allows you to use Foundation Directory Essential remotely in a 24-hour window. There is a clock at the top of the screen that will tell you how much time remains in the pass. After the 24 hours, the clock will show the next date on which you can activate a new pass (every 30 days). Find a step-by-step guide to create an account here.

    Since you will be able to create an individual account in Foundation Directory Essential, you will have access to the MyFDO features that were not previously available. You’ll be able to create dashboards, tag favorite grantmakers, and save searches, and return to these each time you activate a new pass.

  • During the pandemic, we aren't loaning books out, but we have a bunch of electronic templates, reports, articles and sample policies to share. Please contact us for more info!
