This scholarship was created to recognize and honor the vast knowledge and relationship to land Indigenous people have because of their lifetime of stewardship with their ancestral territory. This scholarship supports Native Youth and Indigenous Students who are permanent residents of Humboldt and Del Norte Counties* studying our natural world.
A preference is given to Forestry, Fisheries, Botany, Wildlife Biology, Fire Ecology, Watershed Management, and Forest Soils,
and those who will be studying locally, either at College of the Redwoods(CR) or Humboldt State University (HSU).
Federally and non-federally recognized CA Indigenous people are eligible to apply.
The scholarship is open to students who will be actively enrolled in and attending two or four year universities, graduate school programs, or trade school.
*Please note, this opportunity is open to all students of Hoopa High School, including those who reside in Trinity and Siskiyou County.
Applications will be available January 14, with a deadline of late March 31.
Please contact the NCF team at any time if you have questions or need assistance in applying, firstname.lastname@example.org or (707) 267-9906.
