Plan a Legacy Gift

Our Donor Relations team can work with you and your attorney and other professional advisors to structure a planned gift that will support the place you love after your lifetime, whether that is through a general gift to support the Foundation’s charitable work or to benefit organization(s) and project(s) that you care most about.

Bequests

Bequests are the most common type of planned gift, in which a donor names a charity in their will or trust. In addition to leaving a bequest gift to HAF+WRCF, donors can leave instructions for their gift to be used to establish a fund for the benefit of one or more charitable organizations, or to establish a scholarship. The Foundation can provide suggested language for your will or trust that will help ensure your gift is used as you intend.

Split Interest Gifts

A split interest gift provides you with a stream of income for your lifetime or a term of years while reducing your income taxes and/or capital gains and leaving a significant gift at the end of your life for a favorite charity. The Foundation can assist in establishing a Charitable Remainder Unitrust (CRUT), Charitable Remainder Annuity Trust (CRAT), Charitable Lead Trust, and other gift vehicles via gifts of cash, stock, real estate and other assets. Donors should consult their own estate planning attorney and tax professional regarding the impact of any planned gift.

Gift Illustrations

HAF+WRCF can provide gift illustrations customized to your specific situation and charitable goals via Crescendo Interactive that compare the costs and benefits of different planned gifts for you to consider with your professional advisors.

HAF+WRCF Legacy Society

When a donor informs us that they have a planned gift for the Foundation in their will or living trust, they become a member of the HAF+WRCF Legacy Society. Some members allow us to list their names in the Donor Yearbook while others choose to remain anonymous.
