Humboldt Area Foundation Community Grant Program supports a broad spectrum of projects that help build strong communities on the North Coast. We are not currently accepting applications for the Community Grant Program. Proposals will be accepted again in October 2010. Please call us if you have any questions: 707-442-2993.
Field of Interest grants will be available now and through November 1, 2010 for the following categories: Field of Interest: Arts & Culture
Jacoby, an internationally recognized tapestry weaver, established a fund to "encourage the exploration of new ideas, materials, techniques, mediums, images, etc, as well as excellence." The cash grant will be made annually to an artist or craftsperson currently residing in Humboldt County. In 2008, the award will be open to all artists and crafts people of Humboldt County. Ruth Marcus Memorial Writing Scholarship Ruth was a devoted mother, sister and friend and was active in the creative arts from an early age as a radio, TV and film actress, pianist and writer. This grant will be awarded to an aspiring writer of any age who will use it for "The Greatest Good" and further his or her individual interest in writing professionally. Peter E. Palmquist Grant for Historical Photographic Research
This annual grant supports the study of under-researched women photographers internationally Project Grants to Artists range from $500 to $5000. Priorities are given to exemplary art which actively engages the community in the process or the product of the art. Redwood Empire Quilters Guild The REQG promotes the appreciation and knowledge of quilts throughout Humboldt County. The fund will cover material costs, provide honoraria for instructors, curators and artists for workshops and classes; and support fellowships for individuals to attend educational programs related to the fiber arts field. Lynne & Bob Wells Grant for Performing Artists

TOPScholarships North Coast residents have created over 200 scholarship funds at the Humboldt Area Foundation to honor their loved ones, to support higher education and to help foster the improvement of area students as they pursue their diverse ambitions. Scholarships range from $250 to $7,500 and applications are due in the Spring each year. TOP
