Humboldt Area Foundation works with donors to offer scholarships for local students, including high school seniors, vocational students and re-entering or current college students. With one application, Humboldt and Del Norte County students can apply for up to 50 different scholarships ranging from $250 to $7,500 for the 2007-2008 school year. Created by local residents to honor their loved ones and to support local students in pursuit of their diverse ambitions, these scholarships feature a wide range of criteria.
Examples include: financial need, ethnic heritage, area of study, academic achievement, community service, athletic involvement, and having a relative who was a graduate of a Humboldt County high school or who is a current Humboldt State University employee.
The HAF Scholarship application for the 2008-2009 school year will be available January 15, 2008. For your convenience, you may view last year's applications to learn about the types of scholarships we offer.
NOTE: Once you have downloaded the HAF Application in WORD or PDF, go to the EDIT command and select FIND (or Ctrl F). This is where you can enter any specific words that will help you find a particular scholarship criteria.
Example: After downloading, enter the word “nursing” to find scholarships for nursing students.
