Application Process
Prior to applying for TAP, Nonprofits should contact the consultant of their choice to discuss their needs. If you need a list of qualified consultants to choose from, please ask Resource Center Staff. Please submit a proposal from the consultant you plan to work with including expected hours, rate and scope of work. If you would like to work with a consultant unfamiliar to the Foundation we will request materials that will allow us to review the qualifications of the consultant. We typically require that consultants hired with TAP funds have a minimum of five years of experience and professional training/education in the area in which they are consulting.
Applications are due on the first day of each month. TAP selections will be made through a competitive process. Each application will be evaluated by the TAP selection committee based on the following criteria:
- Need of the organization
- Impact of the assistance on the organization and its constituents
- Ability of the organization to take maximum advantage of the assistance
- Appropriateness of the assistance requested and/or the assistance provider
Priority will be given to:
- Organizations providing safety net services
- Organizations whose services impact large numbers of people locally
Areas of assistance covered by TAP may include (but are not limited to):
- Strategic planning
- Board development
- Fundraising planning
- Operational assessments*
- Collaborations
- Executive coaching
- Personnel issues*
- Financial Management*
We encourage applicants to discuss their technical assistance needs with Resource Center Staff before submitting an application. TAP will not fund activities commencing prior to award approval.
