Opened in 1994, with initial support from The David and Lucile Packard Foundation and the William T. Rooney Fund, the Rooney Resource Center is the North Coast's information clearinghouse and support center for nonprofit organizations. The Center hosts a nonprofit Management Assistance Program and a grant resource library in the Bayside office of the Humboldt Area Foundation, with satellite offices in Redway and Crescent City.

Over 1,000 visitors sign in at the resource centers annually. Visitors are welcome to utilize the resources and conduct research at the Bayside Resource Center during open hours Monday - Friday, 12:00 to 5 p.m. Appointments are recommended for individuals unfamiliar with the Center's resources. Instead of an appointment, visitors may attend a free Resource Center Orientation and Grant Funding Workshop held once a month at the Humboldt Area Foundation. Call (707) 442-2993 for Orientation schedule and details.

The Resource Center has partnered with Northern California Association of Nonprofits (NorCAN) to offer over 20 workshops annually to the public covering a wide range of nonprofit issues from grantwriting basics, introduction to board service and coaching skills for managers. For more information on workshops or to register, please call or email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it at (707) 442-2993.

We also provide management and technical assistance and host workshops in these areas throughout the year.
