The Humboldt Area Foundation is always gratified when it can work in partnership with community organizations. Through a funding partnership between its members, the Mel & Grace McLean Foundation and the Humboldt Area Foundation the Northern California Association of Nonprofits (NorCAN) now provides workshops geared to build the capacity of nonprofits.
Since the July of 2005, NorCAN has hosted over 50 workshops, 1 regional conference, 1 mini conference, over 30 roundtables, and 5 special events with future plans for many more.
Monthly meetings with specific topics are open to nonprofit employees, board members, and community at large to provide an opportunity for information sharing, collaboration building and organizational business.
The need for community benefit organizations to have strong long-term fund development plans is crucial. This group provides an opportunity to network, brainstorm, learn from each other, and peer-to-peer support. The group meets quarterly and is always a wealth of information for those in charge of fund development in their organizations.
Refreshments will be provided.
